Introduction to Planets

Introduction to Planets
There are nine significant grahas(planets) in our solar system.

Surya(SUN), chandra(MOON), kuja(MARS), budha(MERCURY), guru(JUPITER),
shukra(VENUS), shani(SATURN), rahu(DRAGON's HEAD) & ketu(DRAGON's TAIL).

The nine grahas influence human life on earth and every thing in earth from plants, animals, water & air are influenced by the cosmic vibrations of these grahas. On a full moon day the tides rise in the sea due to the moon's cosmic vibrations, the medicinal herbs grow in moonlight, the sun is the giver of life, sun's rays fall on earth after 7 1/2 minutes since sunrise. Plants respond to sunlight and need the cosmic vibrations of the sun to make food, the sunflower follows the direction of the sun from east to west. Wild animals bask in sunlight after preying a meal. Every thing in earth are connected to the nine grahas and influenced by the cosmic vibrations of the grahas.

The Apamandala (Ecliptic path of the sun) is divided into 12 houses of the zodiac, the zodiac itself being a Circle of Light, which has no beginning and no end. Each zodiac house is further divided into 30 degrees each, and the 27 stars or constellations are divided into 4 steps(padas). Each pada is 3 degrees and 20 minutes and a house is divided into nine parts with each part being 3 degrees and 20 minutes, 9 x 3degrees = 27degrees, 20min x 9 = 180mins, 1 degree = 60 minutes, 180 mins = 3 degrees, 27+3 = 30 degrees.

The 12 zodical signs are:-
